Harry Raphael
CPA, CVA, MBA, MSA
Harry primarily provides advisory services relating to the following areas:
- Strategic business management
- Tax planning
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Tax compliance
- Accounting systems
- Business and personal financial planning
Harry works with a wide variety of industries, including service businesses, manufacturers, distributors and real estate.
Outside of the office, Harry splits his time between Needham and Williamstown and has volunteered for various community organizations, including the Needham Little League. In his spare time, he volunteers at a horse farm and goes hiking with his family and dog. He is a proud member of the Boston Park League Baseball Hall of Fame.
Harry received a BA in Economics/Mathematics from Colby College and an MBA and an MS in Accounting from Northeastern University Graduate School of Professional Accounting. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Smaller Business Association of New England, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jeff Simmons
CPA, MBA, MSA
Jeff’s practice concentrates on providing business and financial consulting services as well as performing audits and reviews of financial statements. He oversees the firm’s quality control for all attestation engagements.
Currently a resident of Brookline, Jeff previously lived in Needham, where he served on the School Committee for a decade. He is an avid sports enthusiast and was a Spinning® instructor for seven years. Before his career in accounting, Jeff worked as a television and video producer and won a New England Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Editing.
Jeff holds an AB in Political Science from Brown University and an MBA and an MS in Accounting from Northeastern University Graduate School of Professional Accounting, where he graduated first in his class. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

John Masci
CPA, JD
John’s primary areas of concentration are individual, estate, corporate and partnership taxation with a special focus on real estate partnerships. He oversees the firm’s real estate practice and has significant experience in auditing HUD and MHFA subsidized multi-family housing projects. He also oversees the firm’s estate tax and planning practice in conjunction with Adam Gorlovsky-Schepp.
A life-long resident of Arlington, MA, John is very active in his local community. He is a board member emeritus and past president of the board of directors of the Arlington Boys and Girls Club and the treasurer of the Arlington Babe Ruth Baseball Association. He also previously served as president of the board of governors of the Lexington Golf Club. In his free time, John is an avid (but bad) golfer and enjoys vacations at the beach with family and friends.
John received a BS in Accountancy, cum laude, from Bentley College and a JD, magna cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, previously serving on its real estate committee, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Brian Carney
CPA
Brian’s practice primarily relates to closely held businesses and their owners, for which he provides a wide range of accounting, attestation, and tax planning services. He also provides consulting services, such as the preparation of specialized schedules and implementing stronger accounting functions and controls.
A resident of Boston’s West End, Brian is an avid golfer and Boston sports fan.
Brian has a BS in Business Administration from Salem State College with a concentration in Accounting. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Karen M. Lydon
CPA
Karen’s practice primarily focuses on taxation for high-net-worth individuals as well as audits and reviews of money managers, investment funds, and charitable organizations. She is also highly experienced in corporate, partnership, trust, and non-profit taxation.
A resident of Wrentham, Karen likes golfing, swimming, and biking in her free time. She also enjoys traveling with her family and friends.
Karen received her BS in Management with a concentration in Accounting and Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts and her MS in Taxation from Bentley College. She is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Todd Nichol
CPA
Todd specializes in international tax matters and has extensive experience with individual, partnership, fiduciary and non-profit tax work.
Born and raised in Montreal, Todd is an avid fan of hockey.
Todd has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Tom Riekstins
Tom is a major contributor to the firm’s real estate practice, where he oversees tax and audit issues for many of the firm’s key real estate clients. He has significant experience in HUD and MHFA multi-family audits, as well as the complex partnership tax issues that accompany such engagements.
Residing in Falmouth, Tom enjoys spending time at the beach.
Tom holds a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University with a major in Accounting.

Robert Carleton
CPA, MBA
Bob is part of the firm’s real estate practice and has significant experience auditing HUD and MHFA subsidized multi-family housing projects. He also oversees the firm’s audits of employee benefit plans. Day to day, he provides a wide range of accounting and auditing services for closely held businesses and is an expert on corporate, partnership and individual taxation.
Residing in Millis, Bob spends his free time with his family and enjoys restoring vintage cars, especially classic Mustangs. He also enjoys model railroading and attending concerts, such as Jimmy Buffett’s annual performance.
Bob holds a BS in Accounting from Babson College and an MBA in finance from Bentley University. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, currently serving on its real estate committee, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Adam Gorlovsky-Schepp
CPA, CIA, CPCU
Adam oversees the firm’s tax practice and particularly specializes in closely held businesses, venture-backed startups, foreign taxation, and complex issues pertaining to high-net-worth individuals. Together with John Masci, he also oversees the firm’s estate tax and planning practice.
A resident of Boston’s South End, Adam is involved with a number of organizations in Boston. He currently serves as President on the board of directors of Community Boating—the largest and oldest public sailing program in the United States.
Adam holds a BBA in Accounting and a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he graduated with high honors. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
